| | ABUNDANT LIFE CENTER II, LLC "Sharon's House Of Hope...Turning Lives Right-Side Up!" | Our Philosophy The Abundant Life Center II, LLC staff maintains an environment that encourages residents to embrace a value system that fosters self-respect, love, personal standards of excellence, and a commitment to responsible behavior. Our ultimate goal is to plant seeds of success in the hearts of our youth. Through love, patience, and nurturing, we will empower each young man to become an asset to his community. Our Objectives The Program Director has the authority for administration of the facility. The Abundant Life Center II, LLC (TALC) is a community-based residential facility located in Richmond, Virginia (Chesterfield County). The facility is licensed under the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and Substance Abuse. We offer quality 24 hour care and supervision to 6 juvenile males between the ages of 13 and 18. Because of the spacing of the age group for which we are licensed to serve (13-18), one of our objectives is to manage admissions so as to keep current clients within a compatible age grouping (13-15 and 16-18). Our ultimate objective is to enable young men to return to their families as functional, contributing members; or to successfully transition to an effective, independent living member of the community. The bottom line - our clients will leave with a greater potential for success than when they came! Main Focus of the Program The Abundant Life Center is established as a solution to the many problems facing adolescent boys. These problems include but are not limited to: -
adoption disruptions which leave children in need of a safe, nurturing, residential environment -
at-risk, unsheltered youth who are unable to immediately return home due to family/relational problems and require emergency, short-term, or long-term care -
youth who have been removed from the home and separate from normal family life due to psychological, behavioral, or emotional disorders (diagnosis); who require a home like environment in which they can receive proper treatment (counseling, training, education, medical assessments, etc.) that prepares them for return to normal family life -
dysfunctional, hard-to-place youth who may be unable to be placed in a foster home and require short-term or long-term “home-like” care and interaction -
youth whose development is negatively impacted due to multiple placement, and are in need of a consistent, family-styled, home setting -
teens who will not be returning to their homes, but will be transitioning to independent living and require training, counseling, and life skills preparation -
at-risk youth who are being disadvantaged from unresolved problems in all three major areas of his life: family, school and peers
